Art Therapy

Art Therapy is the use of art to facilitate expression of the whole self: body, mind and spirit. The act of creating is innately curative, it is in the doing that we heal. Art expression offers one the opportunity to express what words cannot say and feelings that cannot be described with language.
Art Therapy and the creative process can be a means to reconciling emotional conflicts and of fostering self awareness and personal growth. Art has the ability to present the facts unmistakably. One need not be skilled in the use of art materials, in fact a beginners mind set is best, allowing for the experience and exploration of the self to be safe and enlightening.
There can be no mistakes in Art Therapy, your way is the right way. Art Therapy encourages creative expression through painting, drawing ,scribbling, clay, collage, sculpture, creative journaling etc. My style of Art Therapy is not to interpret or analyze but rather facilitate an outlet for emotions and assist the creator in understanding their own work, personal symbols and creative expression.
